Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is located in northern Tanzania and forms part of the country’s renowned northern circuit. The famed Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s most valued treasure, its oldest and most popular national park. Surrounded by remarkable tribes such as the Maasai and Hadzabe, this wider area is also fascinating from a cultural perspective. The park is host to the dramatic Great Migration, where hundreds of thousands of zebras and Thomson’s gazelle join more than two million wildebeest on their trek to find fresh grazing and water.

Serengeti National Park houses the world’s highest concentration of predators, as well as over 2,500 lions, a safari here is guaranteed to be exceptional. Another can’t-miss of the Serengeti National Park is calving season, when 8,000 wildebeest are born daily in January and February. Nothing compares to seeing a baby wildebeest take off running just minutes after being born. The Serengeti is an excellent year-round destination.
