On the edge of Great Rift Valley lays Lake Manyara National Park is one of the tourist spots in Tanzania which has attracted tourists from all across the world for its tree climbing lions, Soda Ash Lake and flamingoes. Surrounding Lake Manyara is the smaller, more exclusive Lake Manyara National Park, which stretches for 31 miles along the base of the Rift Valley.
The lake has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world, who make their home in the lush groundwater forests and elephants which is a sight to behold. Animals like Maasai giraffe, cheetah, impala and a large herds of buffalo can be spotted in the park. The shores of the lake, are covered with pink flamingo (depending on the season) which attract more than 400 species of birds, many of them waterfowl.
