Found outside Arusha city and beneath Mt. Meru, Arusha National Park provides the opportunity for a magnificent day trip. The Ngurdoto Crater, Momela Lakes, the highland montane forest, and the rugged Mount Meru (4575 m above sea level) are the four distinctive features of the park. With diverse wildlife, the landscape, a number of herbivores animals plus some of the 400 recorded bird species there is lot to see in this part of Arusha.
Momella Lake is situated within the park and canoeing is one of the top things to do, while canoeing, it is possible to see a variety of birds including flamingoes and animals such as water bucks, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, dik-diks and antelopes in the surrounding area.
